Battlefield 1 is adding female soldiers with the upcoming In the Name of the Tsar add-on.
Battlefield 1 developer DICE revealed the first promo image for the game’s upcoming DLC, In the Name of the Tsar.
The image released follows the same style set by the main game and previous DLCs, the only difference here is that it shows a female soldier. Prior to the game’s launch, DICE wasn’t too hot on the idea of female soldiers, so it’s good to see the studio commit and actually make it happen.
The woman featured on the cover is a member of the 1st Russian Women’s Battalion of Death, as you can see in Westie‘s video above. Historically, Russian women did play a role in the war. It’s unclear if the entirety of the line-up (all classes) will be occupied by female soldiers.
We’ll have to wait for E3 to learn more, as DICE promised the add-on’s official reveal will take place there.
In the Name of the Tsar does not yet have a release date.
