Microsoft may have hidden Xbox Scorpio’s release date and a sick burn on Sony in its E3 teasers

If you pause the Xbox E3 2017 teasers Microsoft dropped recently at just the right moment, you’ll be treated to some juicy stuff.

Earlier this week, Microsoft officially kicked off the hype campaign for its E3 2017 press conference. The company released a couple of teasers that focus on the power of Xbox Scorpio, which will be officially unveiled at the event.

The teaser videos, titled ‘Feel True Power,’ were well-produced, and very brief, highlighting different people being blown away by the power of the console. However, look closer, and you’ll find a couple of hidden messages. The videos are very short, so you’ll have to take your time, but your patience will be rewarded.

Windows Central noticed that when you pause this video at the scene with a Ferris wheel, you’ll see “6>4” on the white tent on the left. It’s very small, and again, very easy to miss, but it likely refers to the console’s often talked about 6TFLOPS of computing power, compared to PS4 Pro’s 4.12 TFLOPS.

In this next video, there’s a scene that shows a large crowd at some music concert. This one is even harder to spot, but on the stage to the right, you’ll see “X10S101-317.” Microsoft could be trying to tease the console’s release date here, if you assume “X10S” refers to Scorpio, and “101317” is the October 13, 2017 date.

As the site points out, this date happens to fall on a Friday, which is a traditional console launch day. The first Xbox One debuted on a Friday back in 2013.

This should all obviously be taken with a pinch of salt, but given how obscure these messages are, they could indeed be more than honest teasers. Whatever it is, we’re going to definitely find out when Microsoft’s big show rolls around on Sunday.

As always, expect full coverage of the event, both from the scene and remotely, on VG247.
