PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds explosive success continues to impress even the most cynical. Just two weeks ago, the game reached 3 million sales.
And today, creator Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene announced that four million copies have now been sold. Greene revealed the milestone to his Twitter followers earlier, and thanked players for their continued support.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was only released at the end of March, but has since become nothing short of a phenomenon. It’s been on Steam’s top sellers list almost every day since, but more crucially, it’s pulling in concurrent player numbers that topple every other game on Steam – save for Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
For its part, developer Bluehole has been steadily releasing patches for the game every week, with the most recent one having been released yesterday. There are also bigger, monthly updates designed to add new content and address long-standing issues.
