As part of Monster Hunter World’s ongoing relationship with PlayStation, the PS4 version of the game will feature a full armour set based on Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn.
You’ll also be able to get Aloy’s bow and a Palico armour set that turns you cute little cat friend into a tiny robot dinosaur from Horizon.
How to get Aloy Armour and bow in Monster Hunter World:
To get the armour set, you have to complete the Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration event quest, which will be distributed to online players after the game comes out on January 26. We’re just waiting on Capcom to release the specifics and timing of the quest, then we’ll update this page with exactly how to run it through.
Once you’ve completed the quest, you’ll have access to “special materials” which you can use to forge the collaboration equipment at the in-game Smithy.
The armour set will completely transform your character to look like Aloy – including their face. Even male characters will have their look altered to resemble her.
Full armour sets like this one won’t be compatible with other armour pieces, meaning you can’t mix-and-match will different bits equipped at the same time – so it’s all or nothing with the Aloy armour set.
However, it does come with a “predetermined set of skills” and can be upgraded at the Smithy, so it isn’t purely cosmetic like layered armour.
This Aloy set is also not to be confused with the “Alloy” set, which is a platemail-style armour set that’s resistant to water and dragon elemental attacks.
In terms of stats though, we don’t know yet how Aloy’s set stacks up against the rest of the armour in Monster Hunter World; or how the bow will rank among Monster Hunter World’s weapons.
What we do know however, is that the set looks bad ass – as you can see in the trailer below:
