J.J. Abrams' Sci-Fi Drama Gets Straight-to-Series Order at HBO - IGN News

HBO will be the home of J.J. Abrams' new sci-fi drama series Demimonde. As reported by Variety, the show got a straight-to-series order from the network. The show is described as "an epic and intimate sci-fi fantasy drama." Plot details are still largely under wraps, but it was previously reported the series will follow a family who is in a terrible car accident, leaving the mother, who is a scientist, in a coma. Her daughter then combs through some of her mother's experiments and ends up in a different world where she must battle an oppressive force.
