Rainbow Six Siege Operation: Chimera and Outbreak co-op event hit the test servers soon

The first details of Operation Chimera and the Outbreak Event for Rainbow Six Siege have been provided by Ubisoft.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 3 will start off with Operation: Chimera alongside the limited time event Outbreak on the TTS two weeks from now.

Two new operators who are specialists in biohazard situations will arrive from France and Russia. Both are playable in adversarial multiplayer.

On February 19, Year 3 will start when Operation: Chimera will go live on the technical test servers, with Outbreak following the next day on February 20.

Operation: Chimera will release on all platforms March 6 and the Outbreak event will kick off the same day. It will run until April 3.

As previously rumored, the event takes place in New Mexico. Here, the Rainbow team will be up against an infestation of unknown origin which is attacking the small town of Truth or Consequences. The entire town has been quarantined, trapping civilians and soldiers inside.

Outbreak is the first seasonal event for Rainbow Six Siege, where a team of three will need to enter the town and neutralize the threat. Here, they will find “exploding monstrosities and hulking horrors,” that are not only armored, but don’t use cover and instantly engage in close combat.

Last week, Ubisoft announced Outbreak Collection Packs will be obtainable in-game during the Outbreak Event or in the new Advanced, Gold and Complete editions of Rainbow Six Siege.

The packs will be available March 6 and each pack grants one of 50 unique cosmetic items designed for the Outbreak event. Each are guaranteed to not be a duplicate of one already unlocked and will remain available after the event ends.
