According to Dredd star Karl Urban, Ex Machina director Alex Garland is the one who actually helmed the 2012 film. In an interview with JoBlo, Urban credited Garland as one of the main reasons why Dredd has been so beloved for these past few years. Urban's comments seem to confirm a rumor Garland took over for Travis in the director's chair.
