Sopranos Movie Prequel in the Works - IGN News

The Sopranos creator David Chase is developing a film prequel to the hit HBO series. Deadline reports Chase co-wrote the screenplay with The Sopranos scribe Lawrence Konner, with New Line on board. The movie, currently titled The Many Saints of Newark, is set in the era of the Newark riots in the 60s and follows the rivalries between the African-American and Italian gangs.
