The Division 2 is in the works at Massive Entertainment.
Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is in developments at Massive Entertainment.
The latest title from the company was announced in a press release which was leaked online a bit earlier than Ubisoft planned.
Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai are also working on the title.
The Division 2 will be based on an updated version of the Snowdrop Engine that will “help realize” the studio’s “ambitions for this title”.
“But that is not all,” states the press release. “The Division continues. After the celebrations of our 2 year anniversary, we will support the game with two more title updates.
“These will be two, brand new Global Events which include more Legendary difficulty missions and an Xbox One X update that will rediscover the beautiful and emblematic New York City with all its stunning details in both 4K and 1080p.”
In addition, as of June 2018, players will also be able to play ‘Crests’, which are specific achievements that will allow them to unlock The Division 2 rewards.
The Division 2 is just one of the upcoming triple-A titles Ubisoft has in the works, set to release between now and the end of fiscal year 2020.
Ubisoft said in May 2017 during its year-end call to investors it had four triple-A titles in the works. One is a brand new IP.
Due to a busy FY2018 release slate, one of the four major releases planned for FY 2019, which runs April 1 2018 through March 31 2019, had been moved to fiscal year 2019-20.
It should be noted Ubisoft said at the time three of those triple-A titles were established franchises.
