LawBreakers 'Failed to Find' Audience, Studio Is Working on New Project

LawBreakers' performance has failed to meet Boss Key's expectations, so the development team is shifting the game's model to free-to-play.

In a recent statement, Boss Key Productions' development team confirmed the game "failed to find enough of an audience to generate the funds necessary to keep it sustained in the manner we had originally planned for and anticipated." In light of this, the studio is moving to a free-to-play model and Boss Key has begun development on a new "passion project."

"The team here has worked hard on

over the past three and a half years and our studio is determined to give this game the second life it deserves," and "while a pivot to free-to-play may seem like easiest change to make," the developer says, "a change of this magnitude takes publishing planning and resources."
