Destiny 2: The Lost Cryptarch murder mystery

We’re halfway through The Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2 and a new quest has unlocked.

Amanda Holliday is offering up a new quest following Tuesday’s reset called The Lost Cryptarch, which involves the untimely death of a Cryptarch called Master Ives.

If you head over to the Hanger in the Tower, she’ll be waiting there to get you started. You’ll receive a Pursuit called Journal of the Reef Cryptarch. This mission is going to be split up into several stages over a few days, so we’ll update this page as the story progresses.

Destiny 2: The Lost Cryptarch part 1

After speaking with Holliday, she gives you Master Ives empty journal, which is empty, so you’re tasked with finding its missing pages. There are two ways you can source these elusive pages:

• Some are hidden in Legendary and Exotic Engrams.
• Yellow bar Fallen enemies in the EDZ

There’s every chance you might find all 10 pages in one drop, but the easiest way we found to source them was to head to the EDZ and complete two Public Events – turn them into Heroic Events if you can – and the pages dropped after killing the yellow bar Fallen enemies.

Upon finding all 10 pages, the Pursuit will update to say that the unique encryption on each page is uncrackable by conventional means, so Holliday is using her contacts to find a way to crack them and will be in touch in due course.
