The rather large, Fallout: New California total conversion mod for Fallout: New Vegas has released as promised.
Fallout: New California has been in the works for seven years, and is finally available as Beta v201.
Developed by Radian-Helix Medi, Fallout: New California started life as Project Brazil by lead programmer Rick Hukkanen and project lead Brandan Lee.
While it is complete, technically it is still a beta, as the team wants as many folks to play it as possible now. If you download it, be sure to report any bugs you find to the developers.
In Fallout: New California, players take on the role of an adopted resident of Vault 18. In the all-new story, players will journey through the wastelands of the New California Republic’s Cajon Pass. The total conversion adds hours of new gameplay and a fully voiced stand alone campaign.
FNC is set in 2260 during the “aftermath of the NCR-Enclave War following the end of Fallout 2 twenty years before, leading into the events that inspire Fallout 3 and New Vegas.”
We won’t delve further into the story, because you should find out for yourself.
Instructions on installation, a list of optional recommended mods, mods which are incompatible, and any other question you may have can be found on the Fallout: New California Mod DB page.
