Monster Hunter: World Ships 10 Million Units, Breaks Capcom Record

Capcom's net sales were up 28.5% and operating income doubled to 110.1% from the first fiscal half of 2018, according to a Capcom earnings report released Monday.

The increase is a direct result of the success of Monster Hunter: World which released on Jan. 26. The publisher's net sales increased to 43.3 million yen for the six months ending on Sept. 30, and 10.5 million yen for their operating income – which is the highest it has ever been at the end of a second quarter in the company's history.

Monster Hunter: World has now surpassed 10 million copies shipped, which is a first for any single Capcom title in history. Profits climbed further after a Steam version was released on PC in August.
