Pokemon Go November Community Day: Shiny Cyndaquil, start time and event rewards

The next Pokemon Go Community Day event takes on November 10, and this time the focus is Cyndaquil and its evolutions Quilava and Typhlosion.

Another month, another Pokemon Go Community Day. The November 2018 community day heads back to a much-loved starter Pokemon – this time this time, it’s all about fire-type starter Pokemon Cyndaquil, which just so happens to evolve into some pretty decent Pokemon later down the line – Quilava and Typhlosion.

As is the norm for Pokemon Go Community Days, the Cyndaquil Community Day will mean that the titular Pokemon will appear far more often in the wild for three hours on the community day. There’s other rewards as part of this community day as well. There’s a range of rewards around evolution, special moves and of course a chance to catch a shiny Cyndaquil and thus evolve to the shiny forms of Quilava and Typhlosion, too. We’ll explain all below…

Pokemon Go Cyndaquil November Community Day Date, Start Time & End Time

As always, November’s community day is a worldwide affair that will last three hours. While August’s Eevee event was extended to two days to allow players to catch more Pokemon in order to see each of the Eevee Evolutions in Pokemon Go, Cyndaquil has a simple three Pokemon evolution path like all starters, so this November community day will instead take place across three hours on one day only.

That day is November 10. That’s a Saturday, meaning most people will be free to head to the park or another location packed with PokeStops. The Pokemon Go Cyndaquil Community Event will take place at different times depending on what part of the world you’re in:

• November Community Day Times in Asia Pacific: 10am to 1pm JST
• November Community Day Times in Europe and Africa: 10am to 1pm UK, 11am to 2pm CET
• November Community Day Times in North America: 11am to 2pm PST, 2pm to 5pm EST

As always with these community day events, Cyndaquil day carries with it a bunch of different important buffs. Most important is that the wild Pokemon encounter rate for Cyndaquil and Shiny Cyndaquil is way up during this three hour period – but there are actually other buffs that are their own reward for participating in this community day.

Pokemon Go November Community Day Rewards: Shiny Cyndaquil, Double Stardust & XP, Exclusive Move and more

As mentioned above, the main reason to take part in this community day is to catch a bunch of Cyndaquil and then find one with half-decent stats and evolve it up to Quilava and then Typhlosion, the more powerful evolutions of this Pokemon.

Typlosion is fairly decent and worth having powered up to a good CP for battle. It’s not quite a good enough Pokemon to rank on our Pokemon Go Best Pokemon Tier List, but it’s a decent fire-type attacker that can stand toe-to-toe with many of the other fire type Pokemon in the game – so if you don’t have a good fire attacker yet, this is a great time to grab one. Fire is a powerful type that can be used to exploit a lot of weaknesses of Pokemon. Taking part in the event has other bonuses too, however, making it quite worthwhile:

• Cyndaquil spawn rate is way up, including for Shiny Cyndaquil
• Double Catch XP on all Pokemon catches
• Double Stardust for the duration of the event
• Guaranteed access to an exclusive move for either Cyndaquil or one of its evolutions. We don’t quite know what the move is, how it’ll work or how powerful it’ll be yet – but it’ll likely be for Typhlosion, the final evolution in the Cyndaquil line. The likelihood is that in order to get it you’ll need to evolve a Quilava into a Typhlosion during the event hours – this is how previous events have worked.

Shiny Cyndaquil: what color to look out for on the day

Ninatic Labs held the first Community Day event in January with Pikachu. It’s continued since then:

• February’s Pokemon was Dratini
• March was Bulbasaur
• April was Mareep
• May’s Pokemon was Charmander
• June’s Pokemon was Larvitar
• July was Squirtle
• August was Eevee
• September was Chikorita
• October was Beldum
