PUBG officially announced for PS4, coming December 7

The reports were indeed correct; PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is coming to PS4 in December.

PUBG has been confirmed for PS4 with a new trailer. The announcement only just dropped, without any prior teasers. The battle royale shooter is coming to Sony’s console on Friday, December 7.

At launch, the game will feature all three maps currently available on PC, and Xbox One. That’s Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. Previously released features such as custom matches, event mode, the revamped ranked system, and Trophy support will all be there at launch.

PUBG on PS4 will be available at retail, and in three digital editions. The disc version, as well as the Looter’s Digital Edition are priced $30. Then you have the Survivor’s Digital Edition, and the Champion’s Digital Edition, priced $50 and $60, respectively.

The Survivor’s Digital Edition includes the base game, Vikendi Event Pass, 2,300 G-Coins, and 20,000 BP. The Champion’s Digital Edition comes with the same content, only you’ll be getting 6,000 G-Coins instead. Pre-ordering any of the game’s editions gets you the Nathan Drake Desert Outfit, and Ellie’s Backpack (Last of Us).

Official PUBG channels have yet to detail what the Vikendi Event Pass entails, or explain the new G-Coin currency. Until such time, do enjoy the reveal trailer below.

As you may have already seen, database entries for PUBG popped up on the PlayStation Store earlier this month. Reports then followed that the game is indeed on its way to PS4. December 7 is just a few days shy from the game’s one year anniversary on Xbox One (December 12), and it means Microsoft’s exclusivity period has ended.

PUBG hits PS4 December 7.
