The Halo Reach PC beta leaked, but you’ll get banned if you play it

Halo Reach is currently in the middle of a very limited beta, and naturally it has leaked out online.

We’ve known for a while that Halo Reach was coming to PC as part of the Master Chief Collection, and now some PC players have had the chance to test out the game’s multiplayer online.

When we say ‘some’, though, we mean only 1000, according to PCGamesN – beta keys were extremely limited.

With a lot of people missing out, it was, perhaps, only a matter of time before the beta client leaked online – but if you happen upon it (we can’t tell you where), don’t play it if you don’t want your account banned.

In the wake of the leak, 343 Industries community support and engagement officer Tyler “Postums” Davis took to Halo Waypoint‘s post about the beta to issue a warning about accessing the beta illegally.

Here’s his comment in full:

Good Morning,
It has come to our attention that the Halo Insider flight has been illegally distributed online. If you download or play this illegal copy, we have the right to ban all associated accounts and remove you from all current or future 343 programs. The Microsoft Service Agreement can be found here.
Cheers,
Postums

The beta ends July 1, anyway, so it’s definitely not worth losing your account over.

Halo Reach will come to PC – and Xbox One, where it’s not currently part of the Master Chief Collection – at some point soon. An exact date has not been announced.
