Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta – everything you need to know

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta kicks off next week and we have all the details.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint‘s first public beta is scheduled to take place September 5 to September 9 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. This is not an open beta, but it’s relatively easy to get in, depending on your platform.

How to get into the Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta

Although the beta isn’t open, anyone who pre-orders the full game on PC, PS4 or Xbox One is guaranteed access. Those who signed up for Uplay Plus, Ubisoft’s PC subscription service, are also automatically invited.

Finally, if you managed to register when beta sign-ups first began, you have a chance at getting an invite. Ubisoft may decide to open up the beta to more players over the weekend, or host an open beta in the following weeks, but so far, nothing has been announced.

Finally, those who took part in previous tech tests are automatically invited to the beta.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta schedule and start times

The Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta goes live simultaneously all over the world on all platforms. That’s 3am PT, 6am ET, 11am BST on Thursday, September 5. This is when you can start playing, and servers will remain online until these same times on Monday, September 9.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta pre-load details

Ubisoft confirmed that the pre-load for the Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta will be available ahead of launch. For PC players, the pre-load will be available beginning 3am PT, 6am ET, 11am BST on Monday, September 2.

PS4 and Xbox One players will instead get the download at midnight local time on Monday, September 2.

We’re still waiting on the beta’s download size, though we expect it to be large given the content (see below).

Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta content

You can expect a hefty chunk of content in the Ghost Recon Breakpoint beta. Everything can be played solo or with three other players in co-op. Four of Breakpoint’s map regions (Smuggler Coves, Mount Hodgson, Sinking Country, Fen Bog) will be available to explore.

You’ll also have access to two story missions, various side missions, and eight faction missions that rotate every day of the beta.

Throughout the four regions, you’ll also encounter three of the game’s big drone bosses. Each of these drone areas hide a tough fight. This includes the Murmurs drone swarm, the Aamons land drone, and the big Behemoth tank.

Although this isn’t an open beta, Ubisoft has not placed any restrictions on capturing footage. You are free to stream, and record gameplay as you see fit.
