DICE has revealed a roadmap for the content coming to Star Wars: Battlefront 2 this year.
In a forum post, the developer discussed some big changes coming to the Battlefront 2 Capital Supremacy game mode, including some tweaks to design.
The biggest is the ability to spawn on Command Posts captured by your team, similar to how you can spawn on friendly capture points in Battlefield. Capital Supremacy is also getting a new map in September, set on the planet Felucia.
Outside of the new Capital Supremacy content, DICE also has a couple of nice surprises in store for fans. First, Battlefront 2 is getting four-player co-op in September. The developer says it’ll be a large-scale PvE experience where you’ll get to play as either the Galactic Republic or the Separatist Alliance.
All five Clone Wars planets will be playable as part of the new mode, with objectives varying based on your chosen side. As you’ll be playing alongside AI, you’ll have access to the standard set of reinforcements (including heroes and vehicles). This essentially means you’re playing a traditional Capital Supremacy match, albeit with three other players and a lot of bots.
September will also see the release of another big mode: Instant Action. The new mode is designed to offer solo players large-scale battles away from multiplayer and co-op. As with co-op, you’ll be playing alongside and against bots, with the fight this time centring on capturing Command Posts. Instant Action can also be played offline.
The post also confirms that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker content is in the works, which includes a new planet and new reinforcements. Throughout the remainder of the year, you can expect new appearances for troopers, including the clone commando.
