Call of Duty Warzone doesn’t require PS Plus, but members are getting a free bonus

You’ll be able to play Call of Duty Warzone without an active PS Plus subscription.

For a few hours leading up to the official Call of Duty Warzone reveal yesterday, an ad for the battle royale mode leaked on Twitch. In its fine print, it revealed that PlayStation Plus is a requirement for Warzone.

This has since been debunked. Call of Duty Warzone, like all other free-to-play games on PS4, does not require a PlayStation Plus membership. Sony and Activision, however, will be offering Plus subscribers a free bonus at launch later today.

The Warzone Combat Pack was not detailed, but it will be available directly on the PlayStation Store. Whatever content is included, it’s likely to be entirely cosmetic. Said content is also exclusive to PlayStation until October 1.

We’ll bring you more information soon. Until then, you can find out exactly when Warzone will unlock in your region at the link.
