Mortal Kombat 11 gets a first/third-person mod and it looks wild

Mortal Kombat 11 was never intended to be played in first or third-person, but what if it was?

Mortal Kombat 11 is probably down on the list of games with an active modding scene, but every once in a while, someone decides to deliver a wild idea.

We’ve seen camera mods before in NetherRealm’s latest, which offered a rare look at Fatalities and various stages from angles they weren’t meant to be seen.

Modder Ermaccer’s contribution is MK11Hook, a modding suite that lets you mess around with the camera, control the game’s speed and more. MK11Hook is not unlike MKXHook, a similar plugin that enables most of the same functions, created for Mortal Kombat 10 by the same modder.

The biggest advantage of running these plugins over standard cheat engines is that they offer an in-game menu you can use to quickly switch states or cameras without having to constantly bother with memory addresses and so on.

One of MK11Hook’s more obvious uses is that enables changing the perspective to first or third-person in fights, which is achieved through a camera hack. It’s not the most polished “first-person mod”, but it’s fascinating to watch nonetheless.

The video above runs through a couple of these perspectives, including first and third-person. If you’re curious, you can download the open source mod at Github.

Thanks, DSOGaming.
