Dying Light 2 developer Techland has promised it will share some “exciting news” on the game “soon.”
News of a forthcoming Dying Light 2 announcement was shared in a statement regarding the departure of narrative designer Paweł Selinger, who announced this week he was departing the company after 22 years (thanks, RPS).
“Paweł Selinger, who has been the Narration Designer for the last two years, decided at the end of 2020 to end his cooperation with Techland and to pursue his further career elsewhere,” reads the statement. “Paweł spent most of his professional life at Techland and he, among others, takes credit for the success of the series Call of Juarez.
“He left a large piece of himself with Dying Light 2, as he worked on the project from the very beginning. His duties, i.e. the narrative department, were taken over by Piotr Szymanek in October 2020.
“We will be sharing exciting news about Dying Light 2 soon.”
Dying Light 2 was originally slated to be released in spring 2020, but last year around this time, the game was delayed by Techland.
Said to be four-times the size of the original, the main campaign will take you anywhere from 15-20 hours to complete. Doing all of the side missions and emergencies will extend it to over 100 hours worth of gameplay. The game also features choice consequences that will affect the game world.
You can also expect post-release content to be similar to the support showed for the original, with Techland aiming for four years worth of post-launch support.
The game is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It was also one of the first cross-gen games to be officially announced, so will also be able to pick it up for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
