Black Ops Cold War’s new Outbreak mode is a little broken right now.
One of the biggest new additions in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 is undoubtedly Outbreak mode, the big-scale Zombies experience taking place on Fireteam maps.
Outbreak tasks players with tackling several new objectives as they fend off zombies, and brings everything that already exists in traditional Zombies, like perks and upgrades, into it. Considering the main Season 2 update had a few issues of its own, it’s no surprise that Outbreak has itself debuted with a few problems.
The funniest/most miserable has to be the bug that causes splash damage from your own Ray Gun to destroy your armour. There’s also an issue where Retrieve, one of the objectives in Outbreak, doesn’t register.
Treyarch confirmed it’s tracking these, as well as other problems related to Hellhounds and Plaguehounds. Fixes for all problems are in the works, so hopefully they’ll be released soon.
And if you're noticing the splash damage from your Ray Gun destroying your Armor, you guessed it: also a bug. We're on it.

As a reminder, Black Ops Cold War multiplayer – including Outbreak – is free to play for a week on all platforms.
