The Birdman takes to Twitter to see about bringing the game to some new platforms.
It sure looks like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 is coming to some new consoles.
That’s going by some, um, Twitter nonsense from corporate brand accounts. Tony Hawk tweeted at the Crash Bandicoot account asking whether last year’s remasters of the classic skating games could come to new platforms. This follows word that Crash 4 was coming to PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch and Xbox Series X/S.
“If this works I owe @CrashBandicoot a customized skateboard,” the pro skater continued. “Maybe on old-school shape for those big feet.”
The official Nintendo of America account and that of publisher Activision both engaged with the tweet with eye emojis – god I feel old – while the former also replied saying that Crash needed to make this happen.
Honestly, imagine trying to explain this to your great grandparents.
The touched up and modernised versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 launched in September of last year. In our review, we described it as “the art of the remaster.” Within ten days of launch, the title sold over one million copies and was the fastest entry in the franchise to reach this sales milestone.
It doesn’t seem likely that its developer, Vicarious Visions, will be remastering any more Tony Hawk’s games, given that the studio was moved from Activision to its Blizzard sibling company in January of this year.
At BlizzCon over the week, it was confirmed that Vicarious Visions is working on an updated version of Diablo 2, dubbed Resurrected.
