Lost Judgment Includes Free Next-Gen Upgrade for Both PlayStation and Xbox

During today’s PlayStation State of Play Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have announced pre-orders for Lost Judgment are up, and that there will be an upgrade path for both PlayStation and Xbox owners.

There are three versions of Lost Judgment up for pre-order including a Standard Edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Digital Ultimate Edition.

The Standard Edition will come with a Quick Start Support Pack as part of the pre-order, but both the Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) and Digital Ultimate Edition ($89.99) will both be playable in Early Access starting on September 21, plus digital goods.

The Digital Ultimate Edition also comes with a Story Expansion Pack which includes a new story set in Kamurocho and Ijincho.

Another bonus is that Lost Judgment will support Xbox Smart Delivery, as well as include a free upgrade for PlayStation 4 owners who want to move up to a PlayStation 5 version. This is a welcome surprise as the first Judgment game on PS4 did not allow owners to upgrade to a PS5 version for free.

Lost Judgment is a sequel to 2018’s Judgment, a spinoff of the Yakuza series starring lawyer-turned-private eye Takayuki Yagami. Lost Judgment will be released worldwide on September 24, 2021, for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio confirmed that going forward the Judgment series will be its primary action brawler franchise, while Yakuza games will remain turn-based RPGs after the success of Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Like Yakuza, Judgment will have a gripping central story, a story where Yagami must solve a seemingly impossible crime. But there will be plenty of side activities to do around the sandbox world of Kamurocho and Isezaki Ijincho.
