Call of Duty: Vanguard Trailer Teases Four WW2 Locations

As the official reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard draws ever closer, Activision and Sledgehammer Games have dropped a new teaser trailer for the game that details four vastly different WW2 locations.

Activision recently sent a range of short teaser videos for Call of Duty: Vanguard to content creators based in various parts of the world. The game's official trailer, which was released on Call of Duty's social channels, then pieced these together to show off the different World War 2 fronts that the game will seemingly feature.

A number of cinematic shots from locations across the world litter the short trailer. Fans of the franchise will note what appears to be the Pacific Front, the Eastern Front, the Western Front, and the North African Campaign all present within the clip. Interestingly, the teaser strays away from showing any direct combat, instead opting to give fans a glimpse of the four locales ravaged in the aftermath of battle. With a distinct absence of characters in the trailer, vehicle debris and bullet-ridden buildings are each used to depict the faces of gaunt soldiers around each battlefield.

Whilst only presenting a short insight into Vanguard, there are a few features in the clip that could hint at upcoming narrative aspects of the title. Most notably, on what appears to be a German forest floor, a discarded badge can be seen detailing the Task Force 141 logo from 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As Captain Price and the other members of the Task Force were yet to be born during the Second World War, it seems likely that the developers will use Vanguard to present an earlier version of the prolific Task Force, featuring different characters.

Leaks and rumors surrounding the official reveal of the latest Call of Duty title have been making the rounds for a while now. After acknowledging the rumor mill on the Call of Duty Twitter account, Activision announced that the reveal for Vanguard would take place in Warzone on August 19.

Last year's reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War took place in a similar vein which saw the game announced inside the battle royale during a one-off timed special event. Despite the in-game reveal taking place in a few days time, Warzone has in fact already featured a short teaser for Vanguard where a mysterious sniper pops up during the Battle Royale victory screen and ruthlessly eliminates one of the members of the winning team.

The full reveal of Call of Duty: Vanguard will take place in Warzone on August 19 at 10:30am Pacific / 1:30pm Eastern / 6:30pm UK (that's August 20 at 3:30am AEST).
